Windows Server 2022 RDS 50 User CAL — Remote Desktop Access Licenses
The Windows Server 2022 Remote Desktop Services (RDS) 50 User CAL license allows 50 users to remotely access virtual desktops and applications hosted on a Windows Server 2022 server. Each user can connect from any device — desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone — without requiring an additional license per device.
This license is a mandatory add-on to an existing Windows Server 2022 installation. It does not activate Windows Server 2022 itself.
What is an RDS User CAL?
Remote Desktop Services allow users to connect remotely to a Windows server to access centralized applications and desktops as if they were working directly on their own machine. A User CAL (Client Access License) is the access license required by Microsoft for each user who wants to use this feature on a Windows Server 2022 server.
The User CAL is assigned to a user, not a device — meaning the same user can connect from multiple devices with a single license. For environments where multiple users share the same device, a Device CAL may be more suitable. For smaller setups, Windows Server 2022 RDS 10 User CAL is also available on Licence24.ch.
Who is it for?
This license is intended for SMEs, large enterprises, IT teams, and system administrators looking to deploy a centralized remote desktop environment for 50 users on Windows Server 2022. It is especially suitable for organizations with remote work, multisite teams, and infrastructures requiring secure access to internal resources from outside.
ℹ️ Essential prerequisites: this license requires a previously activated Windows Server 2022 server as well as the corresponding standard Windows Server CALs. To purchase or complete your server infrastructure, check out Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Standard, available as a digital license on Licence24.ch.
